SMA 100 has reached End of Support.

13 November 2025

On 1 November 2025, all SonicWall SMA 100 Series appliances reached their End of Support (EOS) status.

What does this mean for you?

If you have a perpetual VPN licence, your VPN functionality remains.

But all other support, firmware updates, and feature enhancements will no longer be available to these appliances after the expiry of existing licences.

And you will no longer be able to renew the following services:

  1. Web Application Firewall (WAF)
  2. Capture ATP
  3. CSC Management & Reporting

Which appliances are affected?

If you have any of the following devices, it's time to take action to ensure you continue to benefit from SonicWall protection:

  1. SMA 200
  2. SMA 210
  3. SMA 400
  4. SMA 410
  5. SMA 500v

What can you do to ensure uninterrupted protection?

To help transition away from SMA 100, SonicWall suggests subscribing to Cloud Secure Edge (CSE), a modern, cloud-delivered access solution built on a Zero Trust framework. This option is preferred by customers moving on from SMA 100 appliances.

To help with this move, we suggest the following route:
SMA to CSE Trade-up

When you trade in an eligible SMA 100 appliance, you’ll get up to 52% off a 3-year Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) licence and up to 4x the number of licenced users on your SMA100 appliance.

| Cloud Secure Edge Secure Private Access Advanced 3 Year Upgrade for SMA

Why should you transition to CSE

CSE enables secure connectivity to internal applications, SaaS platforms, and the internet without the complexity of managing legacy appliances.

Firmware update advisory

SonicWall has released SMA 100 firmware version 10.2.2.2-92sv. This update is a necessary and critical security measure, and SonicWall strongly recommends that all organisations continuing to operate SMA 100 Series appliances (SMA 200, 210, 400, 410, and 500v) install it as soon as possible. While this update enhances device security, it does not change the established End-of-Support (EOS) timeline.
